The control box and handle of the Newport trolling motor can adjust up and down 30 degrees, providing a more comfortable ride while steering the vessel. The 8 speed control system (5 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds) ensures a smooth and easily controlled ride, while the 3 blade propeller (10 inch diameter) maximizes performance.

This transom mount motor is designed to be powered by a 12-volt Lead Acid Deep Cycle battery or Marine battery (battery not included). With 55lb of thrust, this 12v electric trolling motor provides excellent power and efficiency for any boater. The high quality components allow the motor to run all day long without overheating or making noise to spook fish.

The motor also features a 36 inch fiberglass shaft, a 10 LED battery meter, a 6 inch telescoping tiller handle, 30 degree adjustable head, and 3 blade propeller. The tiller angle, as well as mount height, angle, and direction, can all be adjusted and locked into place when needed.

With 8 speeds (5 forward and 3 reverse), the motor is designed for trolling and has a top speed of about 4mph, depending on various factors such as boat shape, weight, water, wind, and others. The 3 Blade Propeller provides great low-end torque to get the boat moving.

The 55lb X Series motor requires one (1) 12V Lead-Acid Deep Cycle or Lithium Deep Cycle battery (battery not included), with a 50ah battery recommended. Additionally, the motor includes a 50amp circuit breaker to protect from battery voltage surges, with a max amp draw of 52A.
